The Power of Positive Thinking

We’ve all met a complainer who plays the blame game to justify their lack of success.

“I’m generating fewer leads because of the economic downturn.”

“So and so copied my marketing strategy, it’s no wonder I didn’t reach my sales goal last month.”

Sound familiar?

People with a negative attitude often blame external circumstances and other people for getting in the way of success. They fail to recognize that their negative energy and mindset are like iron chains, holding them back from taking the action necessary to break through barriers and thrive.

Other “negative thinkers” direct the blame inwards. When they hit a roadblock or don’t achieve a goal, they ruminate on their personal shortcomings. This type of entrepreneur gets stuck in destructive “I can’t” and “I’m not good enough” thinking.

Even the most brilliant entrepreneur with a valuable product or service to offer will struggle without a positive attitude. When you develop an “I Can” attitude, you build the confidence, determination and perseverance you need in order to overcome inevitable challenges and build a sustainable, profitable business.

A positive attitude will help you…

*Overcome obstacles
*Stay focused on your goals
*Be more personable
*Improve your sales outcomes
*Build relationships and valuable connections
*Strengthen personal relationships
*Energize you to push yourself and master new skillsets

*Establish yourself as a leader
*Create a motivational work environment
*Solve complex problems with creative solutions
*Achieve greater work/life balance

Here are 3 steps you can take in the pursuit of a positive attitude that will create momentum in your business:

Celebrate Your Accomplishments.

Unfortunately, it’s human nature to zoom in on our mistakes and shortcomings. To avoid falling into a toxic trap of negative thinking, it’s important that you actively counteract these thoughts by acknowledging all the things you’re doing right. Make a conscious effort to recognize and celebrate your accomplishments on a regular basis. Yes, you struggle in certain areas – we ALL do. But be proud of the strides forward you have made.

Set (or Recommit) to Your Goals.

It can be hard to maintain a positive attitude if you don’t know where you’re going and how you’re going to get there. If you haven’t set short and long-term goals for 2017, set them now. If you have an action plan but have been struggling to hit your weekly and monthly goals, recommit yourself to doing the daily actions necessary to stay on track. Make sure to review your goals, strategies and progress regularly. If you continue to struggle to reach the milestones you set, evaluate whether they are realistic. Analyze what skills-sets you need to develop in order to realize your goals THIS year.

Know the value of accountability.

Staying on track as a solo entrepreneur is an uphill battle. Most people need a mentor to hold them accountable to doing what they set out to do. At Celeste Giordano Coaching, I use my decades of direct sales, team building and business development experience to help entrepreneurs use practical strategies to learn, grow, achieve and prosper. Connecting on a weekly basis, we take note of successes, identify weaknesses and explore how to overcome obstacles to achieving greater productivity and profitability. Working with an experienced accountability partner will help you develop and maintain a strong, positive mindset, which is critical if you want to become a master in sales.
