Why You Need An Abundance Mindset to Succeed in Business
Ladies, it’s time for you to embrace an abundance mindset.
You can prosper.
You can succeed in business.
You can raise a family (or not).
You can have it all – whatever “all” means to you.
I’ve worked with hundreds of women over the last 40 years, helping them to accelerate their success and leave a lasting legacy with their businesses and I’ve found that one of the biggest factors that determines a woman’s success in business is her mindset.
If you want to build a successful legacy business, you must have a mindset that matches. So, here are my five steps to build the abundance mindset you need to be successful:
1. Believe in Him.
I truly believe that in order to be successful in all aspects of life, you must believe in God and in what He can do for you.
He created the heavens and earth, light, human beings, and all other living creatures. He moved mountains. He heals the sick and feeds the hungry. He has created abundance out of nothing.
Joel Osteen put it beautifully when he said, “You have to prosper in your mind before you prosper in your circumstances. You have to give God permission to bless you.”
Believing that you are stuck in your current circumstances will not serve you. You must believe that if you remain faithful and trust in God, he will reward you. The pandemic, inflation, high interest rates, supply chain issues – those are all natural problems. But God is supernatural and he offers supernatural provisions from a supply line that will never run dry.
2. Believe in yourself.
You are invaluable. You are capable of great things. You can accomplish everything you set your mind to. You just have to believe it.
Believing in yourself is critical to succeeding. Study after study has proven that self-efficacy, or your ability to believe in yourself, is imperative to successful goal setting.
If you believe you can do it, you really can!
3. Learn something new every day.
In order to create success and then continue to build upon it, you must embrace the student mindset. There is always something to learn and room for improvement.
Successful people never stop learning and make it a habit to continue their education. This doesn’t mean that you have to be constantly enrolled in college courses or training programs. Learning something new every day could be as simple as listening to a podcast, reading a book or the newspaper, watching a documentary, or striking up a conversation with someone you cross paths with.
4. Turn failures into learning opportunities.
Failure is inevitable. Even the most successful people have failed a few times: Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln, Oprah Winfrey, J.K. Rowling, just to name a few. The difference between successful and unsuccessful people is what they do with those failures. Successful people learn from those failures and try again.
5. Surround yourself with like minded people.
Building and a tribe of like minded people that you can count on is extremely important for long term success and for your own wellbeing and mental health.
Talking about your challenges and successes in both your personal and professional lives can have a positive impact on your mood and attitude. It also allows you to utilize your strengths and work on your weaknesses so that you can continue to grow.
