The Fourth Quarter Playbook: Faith for the Assignment
Today I am continuing my series called “The Fourth Quarter Playbook,” all about strategies to help you end the year strong, with a powerful testimonial from Dr. Amanda Campbell Cooley.
Dr. Cooley is an inspiring servant leader and the founder of Unlimited Dreams Christian Learning Center in Laurel, Mississippi. I have had the pleasure of volunteering with my teammates from the 1976 Berry College National Championship women’s basketball team at Unlimited Dreams, and I have seen firsthand how they are enriching children’s minds with knowledge and hearts with a love of Jesus. I have also welcomed Dr. Cooley on my radio show for several thought-provoking conversations.
But as Dr. Cooley describes below, meaningful success is not achieved easily. It requires hard work, dedication, and faith in God’s plan. Her story echoes a value I emphasize with every Celeste Giordano Coaching client in the fourth quarter: RESILIENCE.
If 2026 has worn you out and feeling like you want to throw in the towel, this week’s message is for you. And if you need someone in your corner to support you through the fourth quarter, contact me today—together, we will build the resilience you need to succeed before the year ends.
Faith for the Assignment
By Dr. Amanda Campbell Cooley
When God gives you an assignment, He does not always give you all the details, all the resources, or even all the people you think you need before telling you to move. Sometimes He simply says, “Go,” and your faith has to answer before your circumstances make sense.
That has been much of my journey. From founding and leading Unlimited Dreams Christian Learning Center to serving children and families through Greater Expectations Children Learning Center, I have learned that an assignment from God requires a different kind of faith. There have been days when the vision was greater than the resources, the responsibility was heavier than I expected, and I could not see how everything was going to work out. Yet God continued to remind me that if He assigned it, He would provide what was necessary to accomplish it.
Faith for the assignment means showing up when you are tired, praying when you do not have the answer, working while you are waiting, and trusting God when what you see does not match what He promised. “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7).
I have also learned that faith does not mean the assignment will be easy. There will be opposition, disappointment, sacrifice, tears, misunderstandings, and moments when quitting looks easier than continuing. But I refuse to measure God’s assignment by the difficulty of the season. I have watched Him open doors, send people, provide resources, strengthen me through grief, and remind me again and again why I said yes.
Every child we serve, every family we encourage, every student who discovers that they really can achieve, and every life that is touched reminds me that the assignment is bigger than me. So I will keep believing, building, teaching, loving, serving, and trusting. I may not know every detail of what comes next, but I know the One who gave me the assignment. And as long as God continues to say “Go,” my answer will continue to be “Yes, Lord.” I have faith for the assignment—not because I have everything I need in my hands, but because I trust the God who placed the assignment in my heart.
