Make 2022 the Year of No Limits
Do you ever feel like something is holding you back from achieving what you want?
Maybe it’s a feeling that you can’t make the change you want for your business or career.
Maybe it’s the notion that if you only earned more income, you could do that project you’ve been dreaming about.
Or maybe you’ve had a tough break, and that has held you back from aiming to achieve greater things.
These negative beliefs, thoughts, and past experiences are like chains around your ankles, shackling you from achieving your goals.
They’re called limiting beliefs, and all of us have them to one degree or another. They are the sort of thinking that stops you at the starting line, ensuring you’ll never cross the finish line.
Ask yourself: what limiting beliefs are holding you back right now?
What could you accomplish without insecurity, fear, or negative thoughts?
If you feel shackled, you are shackled. If you feel free, you are free.
As business expert Brian Tracy has said, “There are no limits on what you can achieve with your life, except for the limits you accept in your own mind.”
Whatever is holding you back, whether it’s words you repeat to yourself, shame you feel from your past, or beliefs ingrained in you from decades ago, you deserve better.
You deserve a freedom mindset, not a bound and shackled mindset.
With effort, it is possible to break free from limiting beliefs. First, you need to identify what’s holding you back. And honestly, this can be the hardest part.
Many of us walk around for years with these thoughts buzzing around in our heads, and it can be challenging to even realize they are thoughts, rather than accepting them as the way things are.
What are the conscious or unconscious beliefs that limit you or your success in some way?
If you’re constantly thinking, I would love to put together a new product, but I just don’t have time… Ask yourself what’s really in your way? Is it really lack of time? Or is it the belief that you don’t have time?
Once you can examine firmly held negative beliefs with a bit of perspective, you will have more confidence about your ability to overcome whatever challenges you face.
Develop a plan of action to move toward your goal with steps that are realistic and achievable.
Going back to our example of not having enough time, schedule time on your calendar every day to work on the new product. Even if it’s just 15 minutes you’re able to devote to it, that will add up in a big way. Give yourself a realistic deadline to finish the product. Before you know it, you’ll have that new product in the world instead of just a wish in your head.
What you’ve been put on this planet to do is too important to let limiting beliefs hold you back.
“Don’t limit yourself. Many people limit themselves to what they think they can do. You can go as far as your mind lets you. What you believe, remember, you can achieve.” ―Mary Kay Ash
