How confidence in these 3 areas could explode your business
Have you ever been blown away by a sales pitch and thought, “Man, I wish I could nail it like THAT”?
It’s hard to put a price on a confident, well-strategized sales pitch. That pitch, repeated again and again, can create strong waves in business.
Last week, I talked about overcoming objections in sales. One of the most reliable ways to improve your ability to address objections is to work on your confidence.
True unwavering self-confidence is powerful. When you address an objection meekly, you reinforce your prospects’ belief that you’re not a safe or worthwhile financial investment. A confident, self-assured approach to that same objection, on the other hand, can give your prospect the information and reassurance they need to invest. And let me be clear, they’re investing in you.
Do you feel your self confidence in sales could be stronger?
Here are three areas in which developing confidence will serve you infinitely in your business:
- Confidence in Yourself
Not every business owner, entrepreneur or salesperson is naturally self-confident. In fact, many struggle with portraying a confident self-image. Whether you’re delivering a sales pitch to a prospect, distributing marketing materials or networking at an event, it’s important to be confident in your professional image.
Investing in authentic ways to improve your self-image can give you a staggering return on your investment. This can include joining a Toastmaster’s group to work on your public speaking skills, building a sharp professional wardrobe, or investing in professional photography for your bio and branding materials.
- Confidence in Your Game Plan
Yes, professional image in key. But without effective sales strategies and an overall business action plan, even the most impressive image will fall short. To reach your goals and succeed at better overcoming obstacles raised by your prospects, you need to map out an easy-to-follow game plan. At Celeste Giordano Coaching, we specialize in helping business owners put plans in place that they can feel fully confident in. Our clients know that when they “work the plan,” they will succeed. It’s important to maintain confidence in your master plan and stick to it even as you face some objections — they’re a normal part of the journey.
- Confidence in Your Team. What’s your area of expertise? Where do you thrive? Maybe it’s sales. Maybe it’s marketing. Whatever your strength may be, that’s where the bulk of your focus and your time should go. It’s important to surround yourself with a team that can give you the support that you need to do what you do best.
[As a side note, don’t underestimate the importance of having confidence in your personal support system. Spousal support – or lack thereof – can make a huge impact on your ability to grow a thriving business. The same holds true for friendships. Surround yourself with positive and supportive friends and mentors and you’ll be that much closer to building the legacy business that dreams are made of.]
